What makes it 60% Baby-Friendly: Footpath allows pram entry and calm water for supervised paddling, but no nursing room, change bench, fixed shade or quiet nap space, so pack own cover, mat and umbrella.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to enjoy safe paddling, a picnic, and stroller-friendly stroll without tiring the baby.
Shallow Wading & Paddling:
Hold your baby in the calm, flat-bottomed netted zone for gentle water play.
Tip: Bring swim diapers and a sun hat for extra protection.
Stroller-Friendly Beach Access:
Push your pram along the smooth path from town straight onto the sand.
Tip: Lock the wheels before letting baby stand or crawl on the sand.
Shaded Picnic Spot:
Set up under trees on the grassed parkland behind the beach for feeds and naps.
Tip: Pack a lightweight blanket and portable chair for comfort.
Public Restrooms & Baby Change:
Use council toilets and cold-water showers near the carpark for quick nappy changes.
Tip: Carry a fold-out changing mat and sanitiser for a clean surface.
Lounge & Umbrella Hire:
Rent a one-person lounge with umbrella to keep your baby in shade.
Tip: Add a towel (AU$10) and esky (AU$20) to store bottles cool.

Nice Beach with Stinger Net Protection area in the water! Also some shadow places there behind the palm trees.

My fave beach in Airlie, I’m down there every morning for the sunrise, it’s so so so gorgeous and peaceful, outdoor shower and water fountain too, and a little bit of shade in the palm trees 🌴

A little hard to find as it’s obscured by a row of mansions, but it’s worth a visit. It’s a beautiful beach. Comparable with the best you’ve seen and swam in around the world. Try to park near the sailing club and walk 2 mins down the street to the entry pathway.

Beautiful beach. We enjoyed sitting and watching the boats go by. Peaceful spot to sun-bake.

Nice beach calm waters but that's as tranquil as it got as lots of house building going on around the little beach.
Swim inside stinger nets from November to May for safe dips. In cooler months, bring extra layers and a blanket for the baby.
