Woodroffe Hotel (solo trip)

Very convenient location with bus stops and a tram stop right down the road. We got a great corner room with good views. It was less than a kilometre to the start line for the Gold Coast Marathon, and there're restaurants and cafes all nearby, leading to Australia Fair Mall, that has supermarkets too.

I've stayed at the Woodroffe hotel on multiple occasions, and I have enjoyed every minute of it! Words cannot describe how wonderful the staff are here! There were a number of things I wish I'd known about this hotel which meant I would have chosen elsewhere for my recent one night stay if I'd known. We stayed at this hotel from May 12 to May 16. After checking out, we were contacted by the hotel claiming that we had damaged an item in the room and were asked to pay $355. We were sent a photo of the item, but we are certain that we did not cause any damage during our stay. Despite this, the hotel requested payment without presenting any credible evidence. I gave it 5 because its cheap, quiet, staff are nice, I had a low-hassle checkin & out and I got a good sleep. If you want a room you can swing a cat in though this isn't for you. If your expectations are just to have a place to crash at night it's perfectly fine.
