What makes it 60% Baby-Friendly: Babies benefit from shaded grass, toilets with change bench and café access, yet rugged terrain, no stroller paths, cold freshwater and unpatrolled pools force carers to carry and watch infant constantly.
Why 1–2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for paddling, picnic and baby breaks without tiring the baby
Shallow paddling by the creek:
Secure a spot in the shallow pools for gentle baby splashes.
Tip: Choose a grassy patch under a gazebo to keep baby in shade.
Picnic & barbecue:
Use free gas barbecues and picnic tables for a relaxed meal.
Tip: Bring simple, baby-friendly foods and utensils.
Baby-change & feeding:
Fold-down tables in toilets and shaded gazebos for feeding.
Tip: Pack extra wipes and a change mat for damp facilities.
Café across the road:
Grab takeaway baby food or drinks at Currumbin Rock Pools Café.
Tip: Check café hours as they may close in late afternoon.
Free parking & stroller access:
Bitumen car park and flat paths allow easy stroller use.
Tip: Arrive early to secure a park close to the entrance.

Children love it very much and it is close to nature, making it a great place for family outings and gatherings.

Decent place to have a dip in fresh water on a hot day. Easy access from parking. Water visibility extremely poor, not sure if the quality is bad.

In the Currumbin river there are a number of rockpools. Not without danger as the rocks maybe slippery. Also, often, the more downstream the pool is the more unclear the water is, especially so on busy days when many oersons visit the upstream pools.

What a beautiful magical place to sit & enjoy the great out doors in nature. So pretty & serene. Just a 40 minute drive from the Gold Coast, it worth the drive.

It’s a nice place. Easy access. Had warning signs as very dangerous. Nice to sit in the shallow rock pools. If game the big rock pool is quite big and deep but you can’t see in the water so check your surroundings and the depth first. People had picnics blankets and dogs. A bit of grass to sit on. Quite a bit of parking. Nice for a rock pool but I’ve been to a few nicer ones here.
In summer, visit before 10 AM to avoid heat and secure shade. In winter, water is cooler; bring towels and a warm change of clothes for baby.
