Positives:

  • Free and well-maintained facilities: Electric BBQs, toilets and bubblers are scattered around the park.
  • Quiet solo experience: The park’s layout keeps foot and bike traffic low on weekdays.

Challenges:

  • No lifeguard on duty: Swim at the beach and wading pool only during open season and at your own risk.
  • Limited shade on paths: Parts of the loop lack tree cover; carry water and wear sun protection.

I used to go here, as a youth & recently with my: NDIS support worker. I've even witnessed: 2 ladies on horseback! How graceful! My late father (when he's not being a cheeky, monkey 🐒🐵, poltergeist & behaving himself(!)), used to take the family clan members, on regular picnics & excursions were particularly fun, here! 👍 s up!

Nice quiet and peaceful park, particularly during the week. Plenty of easy walking along the path, sheltered by large and shady trees. A zillion different birds, all very at home there. There are also half a zillion midgets in a couple of areas, just don’t breathe them in. Lots of free parking along Weston Park Rd.

Weston Park in Canberra is a beautiful and relaxing place, perfect for a variety of activities. Located by Lake Burley Griffin, it offers wide open green spaces and peaceful surroundings—great for picnics with friends, casual dates, walking, or just taking photos. I've visited many times to enjoy a picnic, go for a walk, hang out with friends, or simply soak in the views. There are walking and cy...

Great little swimming beach on the east side of the peninsula. Small pool with fencing for littlies. Two pontoons with ladders in a buoyed off area. The water was a lovely temperature. Not a lot of competition for this beach on a 30C+ day.
