What makes it 74% Kids-Friendly: Kids will enjoy open lawns, picnic spots, sculptures and geocache hunts; however, there is no playground or supervised activities, so bring your own games and keep watch near water.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time to explore both gardens, picnic, and play without tiring younger children.
Explore Beijing and Nara Gardens:
Walk through the Qing-Dynasty–style Beijing Garden and the Zen-style Nara Peace Park.
Tip: Ask kids to spot sculptures and cherry blossoms to explain the sister-city connection.
Picnic and Barbecue:
Use public picnic tables and barbecue grills for a family meal on the lawns.
Tip: Bring sausages or marshmallows and let kids run free after eating.
Lawn Games and Free Play:
Play football, frisbee, or fly kites on the large grassy areas.
Tip: Pack a ball or kite to keep kids active and engaged.
Photo Scavenger Hunt:
Give kids a simple list of features to find around the gardens.
Tip: Include items like a dragon sculpture or cherry blossom to make it fun.

Lush, spacious, and lots of shade. Ideal for picnics and easygoing walks. Can get very windy at times, being on the lake, but otherwise a picturesque and pleasant place to find a spot, sit back, and soak in some nature and friendship. The Chinese garden area is nice to wander through. The European trees and big open lake views are the big drawcards.

Beware of dog poo on grass, there is a lot of them! Pleasant view overlooking the lake. Mediocre gardens The Japanese and Beijing garden was looking kinda sad and deserted, like someone just dropped a few themed items in the park. Not recommended. Overlooking the lake on a quiet day is peaceful, can walk and stroll along the lake front. Great for morning exercise.

Went for a stroll here. One side has water views of the city, walk along paved footpath or grass. Very relaxing walk. Small parking area (paid) with public toilets.

As a wedding photographer, I’m always on the lookout for fantastic outdoor wedding locations, and Lennox Gardens is a brilliant one! The open lawns, stunning lake views, and surrounding trees made every photo unforgettable. It’s perfect for couples after a relaxed, romantic spot to enjoy a private ceremony with their loved ones. We had great weather, and capturing photos of the venue and the coup...

Beautiful gardens with huge place for family picnic. We were there last week and the Cherry blossoms were in season. Beautiful architecture as well.
In spring (Sept–Oct), cherry blossoms bloom around the pavilion. Enjoy the free Candle Festival under the lit trees in October.
