What makes it 71% Baby-Friendly: Babies enter free and prams roll easily; a parents’ room and shaded seats help feeding, but occasional loud feedings and no soft-play areas mean parents must manage comfort carefully.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Long enough to explore indoor exhibits at a relaxed pace with breaks for the baby.
Observe gentle marsupials:
Watch possums, sugar gliders and owls in calm, temperature-controlled enclosures.
Tip: Visit quieter exhibits first to match your baby’s mood and avoid loud noises.
Attend keeper talks:
See non-venomous snakes and lizards up close during free presentations.
Tip: Check the schedule at the entrance and plan around your baby’s nap time.
Relax at picnic lawns:
Use shaded lawns and undercover seating for feeding or rest breaks.
Tip: Bring a small blanket and snacks for a quick baby meal stop.

Interesting zoo! It's especially interesting to come with young children. But adults will also be as happy as children! All animals live in good conditions. The workers do their jobs well! My son and I were very satisfied! Thank you so much to all the workers!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised as it might not be a big place but the exhibits are varied and informative I appreciate the effort and creative design of this place to cater to both kids and young at heart! Canberra reptile zoo is really good and cute. It’s a lot of fun to walk around, it’s nicely arranged and decorated, so it’s easy to see everything. The shop also has a lot to look at, including supplies for your pet reptiles! The creatures all have plenty of room with nice habitats and look pretty happy! I’ve only dropped off a star because I noticed some of the lizards could be given some care t...

Best experience for both kids and adults! Highly recommend visiting, totally worth it. Heaps to see, & awesome how you get to touch the lizards too. All staff were lovely. Will definitely visit again. Awesome gift shop with lots of fun stuff for the kids. AND… you might just be there at the right time to see a snake having lunch! 🐍🐁
All exhibits are indoor or undercover, so you can visit in any season. In summer, wear light clothes; in winter, add a warm layer for outdoor paths.
