Positives:

  • Free entry and BBQ facilities: Playground entry is free; electric BBQs let you bring your own food.
  • Accessible for prams and wheelchairs: Wide ramps and paved paths make it easy to move a pram or mobility aid.

Challenges:

  • Limited shade in peak sun: Many play structures are unshaded midday; plan visits in cooler hours.
  • Mangrove boardwalk closed: The nature trail is under maintenance—check council updates for reopening.

A classic. I came here when I was a kid. It was a little more daring than it is now but it's much nicer and family friendly. Usually well maintained and keeps the kids busy for a few hours.
