What makes it 81% Baby-Friendly: Wide paved loops, ramps in Conservatory and five baby-change toilets suit prams; free entry lets carers leave easily, yet limited private nursing rooms and some gravel tracks drop convenience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a gentle stroll, conservatory visit, picnic and guided walk without rushing with a baby.
Stroller-Friendly Paths:
Follow sealed paths through the Palm House lawns and Mediterranean Garden.
Tip: Avoid gravel side trails; stick to main loops for smooth rolling.
Bicentennial Conservatory:
Explore a warm, tropical rainforest under glass.
Tip: Use the ramps for easy pram access and enjoy a break from sun or cold.
Little Sprouts Kitchen Garden:
See kids’ veggie beds and story dome built at low height.
Tip: Check opening times outside school programs and let your baby explore under supervision.
Free Guided Walk:
Join the daily 10:30 am walk starting at Schomburgk Pavilion.
Tip: Arrive 10 minutes early to secure a spot and let the baby nap in the pram.
Picnic Spot near Café Fibonacci:
Pick a shady lawn spot under oaks by Café Fibonacci.
Tip: Bring a lightweight blanket and pre-packed snacks for easy feeding.

The Botanical Gardens of Adelaide were very beautiful and impressive. Large trees and magnificent gardens made the park a must see. Also the conservatory and other structures there were great. We spent a good 2 hrs wandering the gardens.

A great place to visit if the traffic & noise of the city becomes too much. Great facilities or find a quiet spot. So much to do. Clean & tidy & looks amazing. Very reasonable prices for cafe food if you are looking for lunch but beware of the birds as they are known to steal food on occasion (there are signs warning of this in appropriate spots)

One needs to spend a good part of one day to wander around the 50 ha of the magnificently maintained botanic g...
